Every season, Melbern Vegetation hires many new staff members, and we are always on the lookout for good people. We have opportunities for work out of our main office southwest of Beaverlodge, AB, and our satellite office in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

The seasonal nature of our business makes us a perfect fit for college and university students who are looking to finance their education through summer work, as well as high school students for the months of July and August. Fall work may be available.

Positions Available


Position: Pesticide Applicators

Description: The position of Pesticide Applicator includes the responsibility of supervising a crew. The applicator is responsible for spraying pesticides on Oil and Gas Leases.

Requirements: Alberta, or BC Industrial Pesticide Applicator Certification, eGSO, TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid, ATV training, Bear Awareness, Valid Driver's License, Leadership Skills, Organizational Skills, Some Computer Skills.

Position: Spraying Assistant

Description: A Spraying Assistant gives assistance to the applicator. This may include spraying duties, paperwork, data entry, map reading, and aiding in chemical mixing.

Requirements: eGSO, TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid, ATV Safety Course, Bear Awareness, Valid Driver's License, Organizational Skills, some computer skills.

Position: Mower Operator/Supervisor

Description: The position of Mower Operator includes supervising a mowing crew. The operator will operate a tractor with a pull behind, or a three point hitch mower, on Oil and Gas Leases. The operator is also responsible for supervising between one and four grass whip operators on the site.

Requirements: eGSO, TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid, Valid Driver's License, Leadership Skills, Organizational Skills. Tractor experience and basic mechanical abilities are an asset.

Position: Grass Whip Operator

Description: This job requires the employee to operate a gas powered grass trimmer/brush cutter to trim grass in ditches and around facilities on Oil and Gas Leases. The work is physically demanding, and applicants must have the physical ability and stamina to do the work.

Requirements: eGSO, TDG, WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid, Bear Awareness, Valid Driver's License, positive attitude, and the willingness to take instruction.
